One year ago....

One year ago today we were on a plane headed back home from 10 days at the beach to celebrate David's birthday. We knew that entire trip that we were close to the top of our waiting list. We had hoped that just maybe we would get "that" call while we were on vacation with our family. What we didn't know was they couldn't call us with our referral....... While we were on that plane ride home, our dream come true was just coming into the world.

September 6, 2008 5:54 a.m. a beautiful little girl was born in Chiayi, Taiwan. She was destined to be our daughter....there is no doubt in this mothers mind that this child was meant to be ours. We will celebrate Hayden's first birthday tomorrow with a lot of pink, a lot of cake, and some presents too. But my heart will be celebrating what a lucky and grateful mom I am. I look at our daughter and I wish I could explain how I feel. She brings the light into the room, she makes me smile a hundred times a day,she brings me more happiness than I have ever known, she loves me just the way I love her...with true raw emotion!!

She is our daughter, and I am the luckiest mom around!!

One week people!!!

One week from today(9/6) Hayden will turn 1!!!!!

We are not planning anything big this year, while it will be a very special day with our princess, it will be fairly low key. We will have a very special cake, and she is getting some very special gifts(one of which her uncles sent from Bloomingdale's) it will just be our little family. David's birthday is Friday(4th) so it will be a birthday weekend at our house.

I can't believe she is going to be 1!!!!!

Walking, walking, and more walking

Jail Break

Someone and her partner in crime was working hard to figure out how they could get up the stairs today!! As you can see Sophie was working a little harder than Hayden, but that is only because Sophie has experience in this escape route. If the gate is not up Hayden waits til she thinks I am not watching and BOLTS up the stairs as fast as she can giggling the entire way.

The last picture shows what Hayden practices all day and all night....walking. She is walking more than she is crawling on most days, but she still thinks crawling is more efficient. But I would say another week or so and I am guessing crawling will take a back seat in her mode of transportation.

Miss Photogenic!!

Okay the pictures are in and the verdict is.....AMAZING!!! Miss Staci at Fia Bella did a great job, and of course I think Hayden wins for most photogenic. The problem is going to be figuring out what to order!!

If you live in the DFW area I would highly recommend you give her a call pronto and get an appt. scheduled. She is a mom just like us, has two beautiful girls(Sofia is a great photo asst) and has used her talent to start a business. I love to patronize moms like her!! I am so glad Sherry told me about her.

Thanks Staci for working so hard. Hayden made Staci earn her $$ that day:) Hayden never stopped moving!!

Hayden loves her ballerina skirt, and LOVES her daddy.
Not much going on around here. Hayden is getting her picture taken tomorrow, we will see how it goes, we may be taking them again if our model doesn't cooperate. She turns 11 months tomorrow, she is doing a lot of walking, and very little napping, and finally has two teeth:)
