Here is Miss Hayden playing with her activity table. 3 weeks ago she was terrified of this toy anytime she accidentally hit it and it made noise.....now that seems to have all changed. You can also see she is becoming proficient in standing and creeping. She can stand by herself for up to 20 seconds, and she can walk her hungry hippo completely around our room....guessing we are about 30 days from walking unaccompanied. Each day is something new, and each day seems more fun than the last. We have had Hayden now 10 weeks and it has gone by so quickly, and she has changed so much, but there are times that I can't remember my life before her:)

Late Fathers day post

Hayden and her daddy checking out his new television that he got for father's day. Oh boy do they both like to hold the remote.

I just wanted to post about how lucky I feel to be married to such an awesome husband and an amazing father. I have known for a really long time what a great father David is....but he has just blown me away with the relationship he has already built with Hayden. They are smitten with one another, and the smile on her face when he walks through the door at night is worth a million dollars!! They take their garden tour each night to see what has grown in the yard and in their vegtable pots, she loves banging on his keyboard while he is on the phone, she loves that he lets her play with his blackberry, she loves to snuggle with him in the morning. She just loves for her daddy to carry her around and she loves that he reads to her every night before she goes to sleep. It just makes me smile to see them together, and it is so much more than I ever expected.

Happy Father's Day David.....you are an amazing father and we love you so much:)

Hayden Obsession!!

If you don't have these, then I suggest you run out and buy some. Hayden worships the "mum mum" I keep them in the car, in the diaper bag, in my office, in the kitchen. I buy them 10 boxes at a time. She likes both flavors, but prefers the legume....no I am not kidding, and I will not be sharing with her that they are healthy. I buy them at Wal-M@rt(although I don't like encouraging anyone to shop there) I have found them at Central Market as well, and of course on-line. You can read about them here
Anyway Hayden gives them 2 thumbs up!!

Evolution of the foot and the fight!!

I have been told many times....pick your battles wisely, but I feel starting good ladylike manners now so that they are just a habit is a decent battle to fight. So now almost every night we battle it out about whether it is ladylike to have your foot up on your highchair tray....I think it is not, Hayden thinks otherwise. So tonight she decided that maybe both feet would make me feel differently about the matter....I didn't, and she began throwing a fit when I kept saying NO MA'AM!! (while trying not to laugh) She is a very strong willed little girl!!

Just checking in

Just checking in.....busy around here. Hayden either has a cold or is teething. She drools like nobodies business, been running a low grade temp, and a runny nose.... but I don't feel anything. The exciting news around here is: Hayden sleeping. On Memorial day we finally decided we had to do something, she has such a wonderful personality, but since she was tired so much of the time, she was cranky and so was I. So we moved forward with sleep training. All I can say is it was the best thing we have done for her since arriving home. The first night was really horrible......I sat outside her room for the entire time crying while I listened to her cry. I went in every 3-5 minutes and patted her. She was in it for the long haul and trust me she almost won. But once she went to sleep she only woke up a few times and just needed to be patted. Each night since it has just gotten better and better. We have kisses and cuddles, a book or two. We rock, and then we put her down in her crib and while she is initially upset, she usually has stopped crying by the time we have gotten to our room and turned on the monitor. She also is sleeping without really waking up anymore with the blood curdling screams, and the sad crying. If she does wake we can usually just go in and pat her and she falls right back to sleep. She is a brand new child, she is in such a good mood most of the time, she is a little less Velcro like and will to venture a bit more from my lap. I think it has really helped us both. I am feeling so much more like myself since I now am able to sleep more than an hour at a time. I was so hesitant to start this, but I made the decision because I knew she could not feel well most of the time....she was exhausted, and cranky, and the longer we didn't do it the harder it was going to be for her.
She also signed "more" and now she does it regularly. We always are working on others, but she seems to get this one. She can clearly say "mama" "dada" "yaya" "bye"...while waving to herself:)
She stands constantly, she does not want to sit, she is not all that interested in crawling although she can do it perfectly now. She just wants to stand and creep around the furniture and the dogs!! Have a feeling walking is not all that far away......not sure what we do then???
So that is our news around here, what is going on with you??
