For the love of great friends

Oh how I LOVE these girls!!  The visit was FAR too short, but we LOVED every single minute that they were here!!

Coleton, Paige, Hayden and Miss Ruby

Ruby and Hayden

The reason I am not a photographer like this person The girls had a photoshoot and this was what I snapped....You will LOVE what she snapped.....mine NOT SO MUCH!!!

We loved having our friends come, we wished they lived closer, but we will go visit them again before our big reunion next summer.  We had a blast, the girls played great.  Coleton rocked it as a big brother to both girls and drank his weight in good old Texas Dr. Pepper(LOL) When you have girls as little as ours it is hard to do much touring around.  But we tried to show them some yummy food, how serious we take High School football and hopefully showed them some good hospitality(except for a little plumbing issue.  Our bathroom sink and then kitchen sinks decided it would be a good time to backup with what Hayden called "junk"  But we think they will probably still come back despite that little issue.

Now we are off for the beach.  We have been waiting and anticipating our trip all summer.  Can't wait to see the uncles, Aunt kk, Kenzie.  To relax, enjoy some cool weather, and celebrate the social event of the year....Miss H turning 2~~~ oh we will be celebrating her daddy's birthday too~

So next post and pics from the beach!!

The New York chicks are coming....

These two NY chicks will be here this time tomorrow for a few days(with a brother in tow)
This picture was taken back in Oct 09'
Excited, doesn't begin to explain it.
Lisa and I have had a connection almost from the very beginning.  I knew I would love her the second I met her.  Oh how I wished we lived just down the street from one another.  I can't wait to give them all a big squeeze and show them some Texas hospitality.

We have some fun planned, lot's of food, and drink.  A photo shoot of all of photo shoots(professional by this talent)
Seriously we are just giddy as we prepare for their arrival.

Then we head for cooler temps, prettier surroundings, and the love of our guncles for the social event of the year.....Hayden's 2nd Birthday.
This is her last week just being ONE!!  It is so bittersweet.  I love watching her grow and change, but I want her to stay my baby forever!!
So we have a lot going on in the next few weeks!!
Stay tuned, so many pictures to follow:)

This is "MY sister"

Hayden's big sister Taylor was in town last week to visit.  Hayden LOVES "her TayTay" it was so nice to have her home and for her to have some time with Hayden.  Hayden was smitten with Taylor the moment she met her in Taiwan, and they have had a wonderful bond ever since.  Taylor can't believe how much Hayden has changed, and HOW MUCH Hayden talks!!  LOL
Taylor had just gotten out of the shower when I snapped these, so she wasn't really wanting her picture taken, but was a sport to do it for me anyway:)

This is Taylor's dog Rio and Hayden's NEW best friend.  I swear this kid is dog obsessed.  There is not a dog yet that she has met that she hasn't LOVED!!!

Honoring the first day of school (for everyone else)

it brings tears to my eyes when I think of Miss. H going to school.  I am so stinking happy that I have a few more years of her being home with me I can hardly stand it.
(I will be the one who wants to home school her so that she can just stay at home with me and never leave~except for the fact that she will be officially smarter than me by the time kindergarten rolls around...that could be a problem.  Maybe she can home school me)

Who could ever get tired of that sweet little face and that twinkle in her eye?
(today she was putting her baby to bed and told her that she was her wish come true~I tell her that every single night when I put her to bed, and hearing her tell baby kate the same thing did bring a tear to my eye.  She is the sweetest child)

Cap Ferret

This is our old neighbor's daughter Hunter.  She is in the 7th grade and just such a sweet girl.  She loves Hayden and frequently comes over to be my mother's helper.....she is a huge help, and will be a great babysitter someday.  She has a ferret named Daisy.  Well as usual Hayden was obsessed.  This kid adores all animals, and this proves it.  She was very gentle, but loved chasing Daisy through the house.

"Look mommy it's Daisy!!!

and let's carry Daisy through the house!!!

She was very intrigued by the fact that Daisy had a "house"
So I finally convinced her that we should put Daisy away to rest.

Hayden, David and Opa(my dad)  They have 3 horses and Hayden loves to go see the horses when we visit.
My dad had a heart transplant back in May and has had quite the road to recovery, but is feeling great now.  Doesn't he look awesome?(including the hat)LOL

David has been riding horses since he was about 5 and LOVES horses.  He of course appreciates so much that Hayden loves them too!!

Shhhhhh

Quietly minding her own business until she got up and another little girl came with her dad and took her spot....uh oh!!

David is laughing because after the little girl perched herself in what Hayden viewed as "her" spot the competition officially "was on"  Hayden kept watching the other little girl and then kept trying to make sure she was doing the puzzle faster. I think she really does have our family blood running through her veins.
What was not funny was that Hayden then decided that she was not going to be friendly at all to the little girl.  She refused to say hello, and finally would not even sit at the table with her.
Hayden found the Chicka Chicka boom boom dvd on her own.  Happens to be a best seller as far as she is concerned.
Had to move because Hayden was feeling a little too competitive with the 3 yr old at the table.

Hayden rearranging the furniture at the library.

Going to the library is usually reserved for Hayden and her daddy.  But Daddy wanted me to see how enthusiastic Miss H is at the library, so I tagged along.  All I can say I can't believe they still allow them to enter the building.  Remember how I bragged about my wee one being so good at the movies and was soooo quiet and well behaved?  Yeah well let's just say at the library....not so much.  I think I will be taking over the library duties and teaching someone that you must be quiet in the library.  Enthusiastic was accurate, but he forgot to mention LOUD!!!  Thankfully it was a Friday night and was nearly empty.  She does seem to really enjoy going, so I think it will be a good, cheap form of entertainment during these dog days of summer.

If your happy and you know it wear your shades

Have you ever met someone that you think....wow are they really that happy ALL the time??  Well I am mommy to THAT happy person.  I think it is just part of your DNA to have such a happy disposition, and certainly Miss H was blessed with that quality.  Now don't get me wrong, she has her moments, and sometimes even her days.  But for the most part this kid walks around singing, dancing, talking, and laughing her head off(she thinks she is REALLY funny)  I try and take note of that happy quality and make a real effort to mirror that same attitude.  Life really is much happier if you just slap a smile on and dance around a little.  This morning we were having our morning dance routine she said "mommy; get that body moving"  I have absolutely no idea where she heard that one.  Actually on second thought she is REALLY funny!!!

By the way she use to hate to wear sunglasses, hats or even the beloved bow.  Which fortunately she got over finally.  But now she will ask me for her shades.  These are from her Jackie O collection and has them in white and pink....she loves to say I need my "pink glasses today mommy"  I think the kid owns about 6 pairs(none of which I purchased for her) Go figure.

First Movie....Cat's and Dog's

Cat's and Dog's revenge of Kitty Galore

We went to the movies yesterday with Hayden.  It was her first trip to the theatre.  I think she did GREAT!!!  We went to the 10:40 a.m. showing on Sunday hoping there would be almost no one there, and for the most part that was true.  We had about 15 people in our theatre.  Hayden had her booster chair, her sippy and a tub of popcorn that was almost as big as her.  By the way...she ate about half that tub of popcorn(not a cheap date)  It was cute and Hayden really liked that all the animals talked.

Hayden and Daddy have our tickets and we are ready to go in to see our movie.

Hayden dancing in her seat to the music of the credits.

Ready to go home

Grabbing some leaves on the way out:)

Home and ready to go watch some Sesame Street with our leftover popcorn.
