Project Runway

Hayden did some modeling for a friend that is about to open an etsy store.  How cute is this outfit by the way??  My friend is an amazing seamstress, and incredibly creative.  She adores Hayden and the feeling is mutual.  I will be featuring her store as soon as she has it open....really cute stuff, for reasonable prices.

Hayden did pretty well since it was hot, she had not eaten and it was close to naptime and she had sat through a doctors appt. with me.  I can usually count on her being a good girl.  I also think she was really digging her outfit, so that helped and the hopes of playing with Jack the chocolate lab was also a good incentive:)

Here we are enjoyin ourselves, being pretty compliant, and happy!

Then WHAMO she was wiped and done.  This modeling thing, trying to be cute and having my picture taken so much.....well it just makes me tired!!  LOL

Princess Fiona

On Sunday Hayden and I went to the Princess Alexa tea party.  It is a wonderful organization, and I hope you will take a minute to read their story and what they do.  We had a wonderful time.  There were so many little girls there all dressed up in their finery.  We made crowns, learned how to fold oragami from a little girl who was adopted from Hunan.  There was face painting, balloon animals, photobooth pictures, an awesome silent auction.  The biggest strawberry castle cake I have ever seen.  Every princess was in attendence as well.  Hayden dance with Cinderella.  She talked to Snow White, and Belle, but it was Princess Fiona that stole Hayden's heart.  Shrek is a movie that Hayden has watched, and she really likes it....Donkey is her favorite!!  But she was smitten with Fiona at the tea party.  Everytime Fiona walked away Hayden would start to cry and say Foona.  So we would go find her again.  Fiona was so sweet that she finally just hung out with Hayden and talked about how she cooks onions for Shrek and Donkey, they talked about how silly Donkey is and of course they talked about Hayden's wellies....you see she has them on again!! Finally when it came time to leave someone(I won't mention any names but it starts with H) was REALLY upset that we were leaving Princess Fiona.  So Princess Fiona in her royal manners walked us all the way out to our car!!  So needless to say Princess Fiona ROCKS as far as Hayden is concerned.  She is still talking about the onions that she cooks for Shrek(you see Hayden loves onions too)  Good gracious I love this kid.
How awesome are these pictures?  My good friend volunteers her time to come photograph these tea parties and she took these pictures.  We are also so excited because we won her photog session in the silent auction!!! So we can't wait for Miss Yony to take Hayden's picture again like she did last fall.  I have a feeling the wellies will be coming out again for that photography session!!

Future Harpist??

My good friend Lyn grew up playing the harp, and went on to college on a music scholarship playing the harp.  She plays beautifully.  She worked all through college playing weddings and such and did much better financially then the average college student.  She now has two beautiful girls Madi and Gracie who play the harp.  So Hayden and I were honored to be invited to their end of the year recital.  Madi and Gracie did AWESOME and we really enjoyed hearing all of the kids play.  At the end the teacher had everyone that wanted to come up and play.  So Hayden joined right in, and here she is standing next to Miss Lyn with her hands on Lyn's while they played.  Hayden LOVED it.....she loves music anyway, but she was just beside herself that she was playing.  When it was all over Hayden kept saying "more harp please"  So when she is a little older we might have to start having Miss Lyn teach Hayden the harp.

Dragon Boat festival

Last weekend we enjoyed the nice weather and ventured out to the annual dragon boat festival in our area.  It was a great way to spend the afternoon enjoying the traditional dancers, food and dragon boat races.  Hayden's favorite part was that there were a million dogs there, so Hayden had a blast petting all of the dogs.  I enjoyed the yummy food, and David decided that in a few years that Hayden should participate in karate classes.....I am not so sure at karate??  I was thinking dance, or gymnastics.  I guess we will see what Hayden decides.  We also saw a lot of adoptive families, so that was fun  to visit with families that had adopted children from all over Asia.  It was a great afternoon.

You will notice Hayden's watch.  She is obsessed with our watches, and so I found this really cute dragonfly watch for her.  She insists that she wear it everyday.  If you ask her what time it is, she almost will always respond with either sevem o'clock or tem o'clock.  Not sure where those times came from, neither of them hold any sort of meaning as far as being bedtime or something like along those lines.
Traditional Chinese dancers

This was Luke, one of the many dogs Hayden befriended:)

I love how they are looking at each other in this picture.

Daddy you are sooooo fun!!  Look at her face!!
Okay seriously how cute do they look.  They even match which was not planned at all, but it sure does look cute.

More fruit snacks pease

Hayden has discovered her DEEP love of fruit snacks.  She is ALWAYS  asking if she can have a bag.  I limit it to just one a day.  But she loves them so much that she can barely contain herself and savor the one bag before it turns into chipmunk syndrome.  Watch the progression of her mouth and cheeks as she empties the bag.

one  or two already in the mouthMouth so full her cheeks are expanding, but surely one more will fit:)

"huh??  what is the problem mommy??  I just love them!! I won't choke"

Making sure her dogs are not coming to take any of her snacks.  Being on the wheely bug makes for a faster getaway!!

"That was a close call.  My dogs have no idea what they are missing!"

"Oh no I think the bag is empty"

Bummer, MORE FRUIT SNACKS PEASE!!!!

I get the mom of the year award for allowing my child to fill her mouth so full of gummy fruit snacks that it was likely she would choke and die(or so I have been told by the daddy)

Hayden and her dogs

I have wanted a picture of Hayden with Sophie and Finley forever, and it is impossible I have decided to get 2 wild dogs and a 20 month old to all sit still and look at the camera.  So I took this the other day right after Hayden and I picked up "her" dogs at the groomer.

Hayden is crazy about her dogs. She calls them "crazy cockers" because her daddy uses that term for the dogs.  She tells them "No, No, No" all the while shaking her finger.   She is always hugging them, kissing them, wanting to give them treats.  She always tries to put them in their house(even when they don't want to go)  She loves when we put them in the car with us. She really loves their water bowl:(   For the most part the dogs love Hayden too...especially that treat thing.  Anyway, this was the best picture I could capture of the three of them:)

Gymnastics

Okay so for our 4th visit to gymnastics and Hayden cried for 20 min.  She jumped on the trampoline, she is a professional hot dog roller(her favorite) she can do a pretty good somersault, and she actually jumped in the mosh pit today.  So it is going to be a marathon not a sprint for her to love all 45 min of the class, but we are going to keep going.  She talks about it all week, she loves seeing Matthew, she loves the stamps at the end of class, but the second we walk in the door the tears start.  I am right there with her, so I feel like we are going to have to keep plugging along and going.  Next week we go two days in a row, so maybe that will help us turn the corner.....

License to drive

I am a mean mom and don't let Hayden ride in the "car" at the market(way too many germs for my liking) Buuuuttttt when daddy goes he insists that she loves it so much that it is just wrong to deny her the pleasure.  So after I sprayed it completely down with lysol and wiped it with anti-bacterial wipes I gave in and let her drive.  Okay I will admit she LOVES riding in it, and they 4 wheel and drive fast and do donuts(yeah I know) I am not sure who is having more fun.....Hayden or daddy??  She honks the horn and makes car noises(not sure where  or who she learned that from)  Forunately daddy does not go to the market with us often, so I think we will stick to mostly driving our own car at home, but I do agree that it seemed to be pure nirvana for Hayden and she was really well behaved, until she handed me the Mr. Goodbar that she had taken a bite from wrapper and all:)
