Hayden and her Opa

Here is Hayden with my dad(Hayden's Opa) and this was taken last week right before Opa went in for an artificial heart implant.  We spent the morning playing, chasing Checkers(the cat) and just enjoying a little time with Opa before he was going to be on the mend.  He had his surgery on Thursday and we are happy to report that he is doing well, he has already been walking and has been on the stationary bike.  He will now be able to wait longer for a donor heart.  He is just crazy about this little girl and she pretty smitten with him. We are wishing him lot's of love and a speedy recovery and we look forward to many more mornings of playtime at Opa's:)

Fort Worth Stock Show

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is going on right now and so we took Hayden to see all of the animals.  I just can't begin to explain how much Hayden LOVES animals, she has her favorites, but overall she just seems to have a deep love for ALL animals.  So she was beyond excited when we got there and she could see them all up close and personal.  I would say her favorite animal that she saw was a gigantic turkey....I know that is a little strange.  We literally had to pick her up and move her on to the next area because she was so intrigued by the turkey that she seemed good to just stay there looking at him.  She was able to pet a baby cow(yes I know it is a calf) she saw the horses and the chickens, baby pigs and even the llamas which was rather special as the llama llama series of books are still by far her favorite.  She was not the least bit scared or timid of any of the animals and just seemed to take it all in.  I commented that maybe she would grow up to be a vet....her daddy laughed and said maybe she was going to join FFA in high school and then decide she wanted to be a farmer.  I don't think farmers wear bows!!!  Anyway enjoy the pictures, we looked for a pink cowboy hat to buy her, but we couldn't find one small enough for her tiny little head!!

Cooking with Hayden

Here is Hayden with her new pink retro kitchen.  She loves it, she especially loves to pretend to wash her hands, and as you can see then after the hand washing things went wry.  I have found her sitting inside the fridge, but never sitting ontop of the stovetop until today.  She is a climber, and if only we could get her to wear her helmet(what she calls her hat) all the time it would not worry us as much.

I have told you about Lassie Girl before, but look at what she just put out for Valentines day!!  Seriously people I would like to have all 3...which would actually be 6 new dresses for Miss H. because they are reversable!!  You can also win one by going here  They are beautifully sewn, and look cute with pants, leggings or in the summer with bloomies.  Miss H. has a lot of pinnies from Lassie Girl, and we might have to add a couple more.  Shhhhh don't tell Daddy!!

Every letter makes a sound...

Fridge phonics by Leapfrog ROCK!!  Hayden loves them, I love them, the dogs love them!!  The second picture is a bit blurry as Hayden was doing a little jig to the ABC song.  I am not really a fan of things on the refrigerator but in this case they can stay forever....they totally keep her occupied when I am trying to get dinner made, or cleaning up the kitchen.  "Every letter makes a sound and B says bbbbbb"  Love it!! 

Shiyu

Shiyu, YaYa(David's mom) David, me and the hyped up on dessert Hayden!!

Shiyu has been here for almost a month now.  We have gotten use to her being her again and now it is time for her to return to college in Ohio...Ohio is too far away!!  Hayden has loved having her here, and Shiyu has gone out of her way to be the BEST playmate ever.  They play, they read, they go outside, they have snacks, Shiyu speaks Chinese to her.  It has just been great for her to be here with Hayden.  We will miss her, and we are not sure when she will be back.  Maybe she will come back for Christmas next year.

We love you Shiyu and we will miss you again TERRIBLY.  You are a wonderful role model for Hayden:)

Sorry blogger is being weird and won't let me size these right or label them.  This is from our trip to KC back in December.  Karen, her girls Katie and Meggie.  We went to see the Nutcracker, and attempted matching pj's pictures.  Hayden was not really into the team spirit that night. 

Tripp Trapp

The tripp trapp by Stokke is headed to our house, and I can't wait.  I am done with the food collecting, clean with bleach every other day highchair that Hayden escapes from on a daily basis.  5 point harness, grows with your child.  Comes in a wide variety of colors, can be used as a step stool when your child doesn't need it anymore, and finally it slides right up to the table so that they can feel like a part of the table, and it will give you some room back in your kitchen!!!  Yay for the tripp trapp!!!
